This form of therapy is a systematic process that uses recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. Therapeutic recreation is a person-centered approach with the goal of enhancing the individual’s overall well-being. We design recreation programs that include sports, fitness, yoga, biking, hiking, rafting, ziplining, rock climbing and so much more.

This type of therapy seeks to increase hyposensitivity and decrease hypersensitivity. Sensory awareness stimulation involves engaging the five senses to increase a person's hypo-awareness of their surroundings and their body. Our therapists also work to desensitize individuals who are hypersensitive. An example would be having difficulty getting a hair cut due the sound of scissors or the vibration of clippers. Sensory Integration Therapy can be used to promote development, improve well-being, and address sensory processing challenges in individuals of all ages.

Our one on one and group classes are tailored to children with autism and focus on teaching recreation and sports skills. While one-on-one programs are designed to cater to the unique skills of each child and their sport, the group sessions emphasize team spirit through social skills and technical skills related to the specific sport.

Applied Behavior Analysis is the evidence-based practice that utilizes principles of learning to improve socially significant behaviors for individuals on the autism spectrum. ABA utilizes principles like positive reinforcement modify behavior in meaningful ways. It is successful in increasing skills such as functional communication, daily living, and social skills, while decreasing behaviors such as aggression, eloping, tantrums, and self-injurious behavior (SIB), and more.
